A move planned around your belongings and both addresses

Two properties of the same size can involve very different moves. A flat with a lift, a home with a long path and a house with large furniture all need different planning. The more you can tell us about both addresses, the more useful the initial discussion will be.

House and flat removals

Arrange the transport of the possessions you want to keep, whether you are moving a full household or only part of one. Tell us about the number of rooms, the larger furniture pieces and anything fragile, valuable or unusually heavy.

For flats, include the floor, stairs and whether a lift can be used for the move. If your building has delivery hours or a loading-area booking system, mention these when requesting a quote. Our house and domestic removals service explains the wider moving options.

Small moves and man-and-van enquiries

If you are moving a room’s contents, a small flat or a few pieces of furniture, describe the items rather than choosing a service only by its name. A man-and-van arrangement may be appropriate, but the right option depends on the load, lifting and access required.

Give us approximate furniture dimensions and tell us whether help is needed at both ends. A small load can still require careful planning when there are stairs or large items to manoeuvre.

Office moves in Uxbridge

For a business move, send the collection and delivery details, an equipment list and your preferred working window. Tell us about building-management rules, lift reservations and any items requiring particular handling.

Discuss packing, labelling and the order in which items should arrive so the move can fit your business priorities. See our business and commercial removals for the main service information.

Choose the help you need

Packing and unpacking

You may prefer to pack yourself or request help with part or all of the job. Explain which rooms or items you would like packed and whether you need materials. Fragile pieces deserve particular attention, so include them in the initial discussion.

Explore our packing and unpacking service and agree the work required before moving day. Keep essential documents, medication and the things you need immediately with you.

Furniture handling

List beds, wardrobes, sofas and other large pieces separately. Let us know if they were assembled inside the room or if you are unsure whether they will fit through the doorway. We dismantle and reassemble beds, wardrobes and other suitable furniture; list the items so the work can be included in your quote.

Do not assume that disconnecting an appliance or altering a fixture is included in a removal. Identify these requirements early so the right arrangements can be made.

Storage between addresses

If the dates do not line up, ask about storage arrangements. Tell us what needs storing, your expected timescale and when you may need access. Ask how collection, storage and onward delivery would be organised and quoted.

The details that make a local move work

A short journey across Uxbridge can take careful coordination. Tell us about parking restrictions, narrow entrances, long carrying distances, shared hallways and lift dimensions at both properties. If access must be booked with a managing agent, check the arrangements before confirming the move.

Share your expected key handover time and tell us if it is still uncertain. If the move depends on a property completion, discuss how a change or delay would be handled and what the booking terms allow.

Photographs of large furniture and access routes are useful. You do not need to move heavy items to take them; show the space as it is and explain anything the pictures cannot reveal.

Share your moving details for a tailored Uxbridge quote.

From your first enquiry to moving day

Describe the move

Send both postcodes, the property size, your preferred date and an outline of the belongings. Include packing, storage and dismantling requirements. Tell us if anything needs special attention or if there are two collection points.

Agree the scope and date

Discuss what the quote includes, how the move will be assessed and the information needed to confirm the booking. Check the arrangements for parking, keys, date changes and any work at the destination. An enquiry about a date is not a confirmed appointment.

Prepare and move

Label packed boxes with the destination room and identify fragile items clearly. Keep essentials separate and make sure the team knows what is staying behind. At the destination, explain where the furniture and boxes should go and check the agreed work before the handover ends.

What affects the cost of removals in Uxbridge?

The quote depends on the amount to move, the distance between addresses, access and the time and help needed. Packing, materials, dismantling, storage or additional collection points may change the scope. Large or unusually heavy items should be identified at the outset.

When comparing removal companies, check the full service offered rather than only the headline price. Ask about taxes, waiting time, parking-related costs and any circumstances that could change the agreed amount. If your dates are flexible, let us know so available options can be discussed.

Request your moving quote. Include both postcodes, property size, date and the help you need.

Need to move at short notice?

Same-day removals are available, subject to availability. Call with your locations, item list and access details so we can check what may be possible.

If your date is approaching, describe the complete move rather than only the urgent part. Packing, keys and access may affect the arrangements even when the journey is short.

Call about your move

Preparing for your move

  • Separate items to move, items to keep at the property and items to clear.
  • Label boxes by room and keep them manageable; do not overload a box simply to reduce the count.
  • Keep documents, valuables and an essentials bag with you.
  • Tell us about fragile pieces and anything requiring dismantling.
  • Check parking, lifts, building access and key arrangements at both addresses.

If unwanted furniture or clutter needs removing as well, ask about house clearance in Uxbridge. Keep the clearance list distinct from your moving list so there is no uncertainty over where an item belongs.

An Uxbridge base for your move

Magnus Removals is based at Unit 1, Eskdale Road, Uxbridge UB8 2RT. Whether you are moving within the area or to another destination, send both postcodes so we can confirm the service and availability for your journey.

For an address in nearby Hillingdon, Hayes, Ruislip or West Drayton, include the precise collection and delivery locations rather than just the town. The route and access matter more than a general area description.

Uxbridge removals questions

The amount to move, access at both addresses, journey and required services all affect the quote. Send both postcodes, a belongings list and your preferred date. Tell us about packing, storage or dismantling so these can be discussed alongside the move. See our removal cost guide.

It depends on the job. Our man and van service is charged by the hour, from £60 per hour with a 2-hour minimum. For other removals, your free quote explains how the price is set, what is included and whether VAT applies.

There is no single day that will always be cheapest for every move. Availability and your requirements affect the options. If you can be flexible, share several dates and ask for comparable quotes covering the same work.

Consider the lifting, transport and access as well as the number of items. A small load with large furniture or stairs can still need help. Tell us the item list so we can discuss whether a small-move or fuller removal arrangement suits it.

Yes. We offer full or partial packing, with materials supplied when required, and we dismantle and reassemble beds, wardrobes and other suitable furniture. Any additional charge is included or agreed in your quote.

Yes. Same-day and urgent bookings are available, subject to availability. Call 020 8050 9189 with your postcodes, item list and access details so we can confirm a slot.

Tell us the floor, stairs, carrying distance and loading options before quoting, including large items that may be difficult to manoeuvre. Customers arrange any parking permits or suspensions; we can advise on what is needed.

Yes. Magnus Removals is fully insured, including Public Liability and Goods in Transit cover, with a £500 excess. Items packed by our team are fully covered, boxes you pack yourself are covered if they are packed safely, and belongings in our storage are covered too. Cover is subject to the terms and limits of our policy. If anything is damaged, tell us as soon as possible, ideally within 24 to 48 hours.

Yes. We have our own secure storage facilities, with storage units and containers protected by CCTV and 24-hour on-site security guards. Storage is booked weekly or monthly, you can access your belongings with at least 24 hours’ notice at no extra charge, and we arrange redelivery on a date that suits you.

Let us know as early as possible. Charges may apply for late cancellations or changes, so tell us as soon as your plans move. If keys are delayed on the day, reasonable waiting time is not normally charged, although significant delays may be.
