Choose the right waste removal service
Some jobs involve a few bulky items. Others need several rooms, a garage or a business space cleared. Describing the whole job at the start helps us assess the collection and keeps the quote relevant to what you actually need.
Household and bulky items
Ask us about unwanted sofas, tables, wardrobes, beds, appliances and general household clutter. Include the quantity and approximate size of larger pieces, and tell us whether anything needs dismantling to leave the property.
For several rooms or a complete property, our house clearance service explains how to plan a full or partial clearance. Furniture you want delivered to another address should be identified separately from furniture intended for disposal.
Garden waste clearance, garages and sheds
Garden cuttings, old outdoor furniture and unwanted stored contents can create very different loads. Let us know what is loose, what is bagged and what is heavy. Photographs of the full area help, including anything behind other items.
Please mention soil, rubble, paint, chemicals or damaged electrical items separately. Clearing shed contents is different from dismantling a shed or removing a structure; describe that work specifically rather than assuming it is part of a contents collection.
Light renovation and builders’ waste
For builders’ waste removal, demolition or a wider site-clearance project, see our site clearance service. Send the materials list, approximate quantities, access details and the work required so the scope can be assessed.
Tell us about plasterboard, insulation and any unidentified material before booking. Materials from demolition or a potentially hazardous source need separate assessment and must not be mixed into an ordinary load without agreement.
Office and business clear-outs
For unwanted desks, chairs and other workplace contents, choose office clearance. For a shop, warehouse or wider business clear-out, see commercial waste removal. Provide an inventory, access details and your preferred collection date.
For regular commercial bin emptying or removal of unwanted containers, see commercial bin collection and removal. Identify electrical equipment and confidential materials separately; general clearance does not imply secure data destruction.
What we need to check before collecting
You do not need to know a load’s exact cubic capacity to make an enquiry. A clear description is more helpful than guessing. Please include:
- The main items, quantities and approximate dimensions of anything bulky.
- Any unusually heavy items, sharp edges, damaged appliances or unknown materials.
- Whether the items are indoors, upstairs, in an outbuilding or outside.
- Stairs, lift size, narrow doors, gates and the distance to a suitable loading position.
- Anything that must remain at the property.
Do not mix asbestos, chemicals, gas cylinders, batteries, medical waste or unidentified liquids into general rubbish. Tell us about them separately so the collection scope can be checked. Keep uncertain materials undisturbed while you establish the right handling route.
How collection is arranged
Tell us about the load
Start with the postcode, a description and your preferred date. Photos should show the overall load and any awkward access. If the job spans several areas, include each room or space rather than one representative picture.
Agree the work and access
Discuss the items to remove, the access route and any dismantling or special handling. Ask what the quote includes and explain any change to the load before collection. A clear scope helps both sides plan the job properly.
Collection and handover
Show the team which items are included and which must stay. Keep the loading route clear where practical, without moving heavy objects yourself. At the end, check the agreed areas and raise any questions about the collection or disposal information.
What affects your waste removal quote?
The amount of waste matters, but it is only part of the assessment. Weight, material type, loading time, access, dismantling and the collection address can all affect the work involved. A small pile of heavy building material may need a different quote from a larger pile of lightweight household items.
For a useful comparison, check whether a quote covers the complete item list, collection labour, disposal and any additional handling. Ask about taxes and potential extra charges before booking. If you are working to a budget, tell us what is essential and what could wait; we can discuss the scope of your enquiry.
Request a quote for your waste collection. Include your postcode, photos, access details and preferred date.
Moving home and clearing unwanted items?
A move is a good time to decide what should come with you. Make three lists: items to keep at the property, items to move and items to clear. Label these groups clearly, especially when several people are helping.
Tell us if you need house removals alongside clearance. Describe both parts of the job so the handling, timing and quote can be discussed together. Do not put documents, valuables or belongings awaiting a family decision into the clearance pile.
Collection from Uxbridge and nearby areas
Magnus Removals is based in Uxbridge. For a collection in West London or a nearby town, send the full postcode so we can confirm coverage and availability for your particular load. If your job is in Hayes, Hillingdon, Ruislip, West Drayton or Slough, include that location in your enquiry.
For flats and managed buildings, tell us about booking a lift or loading area. For homes with restricted parking, explain where a collection vehicle may be able to stop. These details help us assess the job without assuming the same access at every address.
Responsible handling after collection
Collected waste is taken to authorised waste and recycling facilities, and reusable items in good condition are donated to charity where possible. Magnus Removals is a registered waste carrier, registration number CBDU 642546. You can also request the business’s current waste-carrier details and ask what collection or disposal records are available for your job.
If something is usable, consider whether it can be kept, sold or accepted by a charity before booking a waste collection. Check acceptance and collection arrangements directly; not every item is suitable for donation. This can reduce the amount that needs clearing without assuming that an entire clearance will be free.
Tell us what you need cleared
Whether it is a few bulky items or a mixed load after a clear-out, start with the details you have. Include the collection postcode, items, access and preferred date, and we can discuss the next step.

FAQs
We handle enquiries for household clutter, furniture, garden waste, office contents and light renovation waste. Send an item list and photos so we can confirm suitability. Electrical items, heavy building materials and anything unusual need to be identified separately before booking.
The quote depends on the items, amount, weight, access and work needed to load them. Describe the full job and any dismantling requirements. Ask what is included before comparing quotes; an advertised starting price elsewhere may cover a very different load.
Ask us about the item and send its approximate dimensions, floor and access route. Include narrow doors or stairs and whether dismantling may be needed. The item and route must be assessed before a suitable collection can be agreed.
Yes, you can enquire about same-day rubbish collection. Call with the postcode, item list and access details so we can check availability. A same-day appointment depends on the load, location and available capacity; it is not confirmed by submitting an enquiry.
Yes, you can enquire about same-day rubbish collection. Call with the postcode, item list and access details so we can check availability. A same-day appointment depends on the load, location and available capacity; it is not confirmed by submitting an enquiry.
Tell us where the items are and what access is available before booking. Discuss the loading work as part of the quote. You do not need to move heavy or awkward items simply to take photographs or prepare an enquiry.
No general collection should be assumed to cover every material. Tell us about chemicals, asbestos, gas cylinders, batteries, medical waste and unknown liquids separately. We need to confirm the collection scope before those materials form part of any booking.
Selling, giving away or donating usable items may reduce the load you need collected. Your council may also offer suitable waste services. Check acceptance, eligibility and collection arrangements directly before deciding which option fits your items and timing.
Yes, tell us about both requirements in the same enquiry. List the items to move separately from those to clear, include both addresses where relevant, and explain your dates. We can then discuss the appropriate scope and arrangements.
