Removals in Oxfordshire
A well-prepared move considers both properties: how belongings will leave your current home and how they will reach the right place at the destination.
Magnus Removals provides removals, packing and storage services for moves involving Oxfordshire. Tell us about your belongings, dates and access arrangements so you can request a quote for the work required.

Plan access at both ends of the move
A postcode identifies the address, but it does not explain the loading arrangements. Access information helps clarify the practical work before moving day.
Loading at your current property
Tell us where a removal vehicle may be able to stop and how far belongings need to be carried.
Include stairs, lift arrangements, narrow doorways, gates and any restrictions set by a landlord or building manager. If loading permission or a parking arrangement is needed, raise it early: customers arrange permits and suspensions, and we can advise.
Photographs can help explain access that is difficult to describe.
Unloading at your new address
The destination needs the same attention. Confirm the entrance, floor, lift arrangements and available loading position.
Explain when you expect access to the property. If keys will only become available later in the day, discuss the timing rather than assuming delivery can begin immediately.
A simple room plan and clear box labels can help communicate where belongings are intended to go.
Packing, transport and optional storage
For a domestic move, see our house removals service and prepare a list of the belongings being transported.
If you need help getting ready, discuss packing and unpacking services. Identify fragile items and any furniture that may require additional preparation.
When collection and delivery cannot be aligned, ask about storage. Explain the likely duration and check how the later delivery would be arranged.
Business relocations have different requirements. Use our business and commercial removals service to discuss workplace furniture, equipment and building access.
Agree the sequence before moving day
Start with the date your current property must be empty and the date your new property becomes available.
Then discuss when packing needs to be completed, when collection can take place and whether delivery can follow as planned.
Before booking, check that the quotation reflects your inventory, requested services and known access conditions. Ask how waiting, date changes or an unexpected delivery delay would be handled.
Keep essential documents, medication, keys and everyday items with you. Report changes to the move before the agreed date.
What affects an Oxfordshire removal quote?
The main considerations include:
- The furniture, boxes and other belongings being moved.
- Collection and delivery locations.
- Stairs, lifts, entrances and carrying distances.
- Packing or other agreed preparation work.
- Moving dates and any storage requirement.
A quote should be compared against its included work and assumptions. If one property has restricted access, explain it before comparing prices based only on house size.

Oxfordshire removals FAQs
What if the removal vehicle cannot park directly outside?
Explain the likely loading position and carrying distance when requesting a quote. Access can affect the work and arrangements required, so it should be discussed before booking.
Do I need a parking suspension or loading permission?
Requirements depend on the address. Customers arrange any parking suspensions, permits or loading permissions needed; check with the council or property manager, and we can advise on what is usually required.
What if my new property has stairs or a restricted entrance?
Provide the floor, lift details, entrance measurements where relevant and information about large furniture. This helps identify access questions before moving day.
Can you collect before I receive the keys to my new home?
Yes. Tell us the expected sequence. Reasonable waiting time is not normally charged, and if the dates do not align we can keep your belongings in our own secure storage and deliver them later.
Can you help with packing?
Yes. We offer full and partial packing, and packing materials can be supplied when required. Unpacking can include unpacking boxes, placing items as agreed and taking away used boxes and packing materials. Any additional cost is confirmed in your quote.
How much do removals in Oxfordshire cost?
The cost depends on inventory, journey, access, dates and the services required. Include details for both properties to obtain a quote that reflects the move.
Do you cover locations outside Oxford?
Enquiries are welcome for moves involving other Oxfordshire locations. Send both postcodes so the proposed route and arrangements can be confirmed.
What happens if my moving date changes?
Let us know as early as possible. Charges may apply for late cancellations or changes, so tell us as soon as your plans move. If keys are delayed on the day, reasonable waiting time is not normally charged, although significant delays may be.
Are my belongings insured?
Yes. Magnus Removals is fully insured, including Public Liability and Goods in Transit cover, with a £500 excess. Items packed by our team are fully covered, boxes you pack yourself are covered if they are packed safely, and belongings in our storage are covered too. Cover is subject to the terms and limits of our policy. If anything is damaged, tell us as soon as possible, ideally within 24 to 48 hours.
